Our History

Established by Minor International in 1980, Minor Food has been introducing big global food retailers across the region and acquiring stakes on other prominent food brands. We were founded on a strong sense of purpose to outperform ourselves, a core tenet that continues to underpin our success today.

Founded Minor Food with one Pizza Restaurant in Thailand

Franchised Swensen's from San Francisco and developed it into Thailand's largest ice cream brand

Introduced Sizzler to Thailand

Introduced Dairy Queen to Thailand

Introduced Burger King to Thailand

Minor Food launched The Pizza Company, its own pizza brand

Expanded its restaurant and business into China, which is now known as Minor Food China

Invested in S&P Syndicate, Pcl., which now has 31% stake

Acquired 50% stake of The Coffee Club, the Australia's largest home-grown café group, which is now known as Minor DKL Food Group Ltd.

Acquired 70% stake of ThaiExpress, a chain of modern Thai restaurant based in Singapore. Today, we have 100% stake under the name of Minor Food Singapore

Invested in Ribs and Rumps, an Australian casual dining stakehouse concept through The Coffee Club

Acquired 49% stake in Beijing Riverside & Courtyard, a chain of casual dining restaurant concept specializing in Sichuan barbecue fish

Entered into a partnership with Al Nasser Holdings, a holding conglomorate in the Gulf region

Invested 70% in Swensen's operation in India

Launched Thai Cuisine Academy, in collaboration with S&P Syndicate Pcl.

Entered into a 50% partnership with BreadTalk Group in Singapore to operate bakery business in Thailand

Acquired 70% of VCG group, consisting of Veneziano Coffee Roaster and the casual dinning brands of The Groove Train and Coffee Hit under Minor DKL Food Group in Australia

Invested in Grab Thai Food, a quick service Thai Food concept in London, England

Increase stake in Minor DKL Food Group LTd., which operates restaurant business in Australia from 50% to 70%

Increase investment in Riverside in China from 49% to 69.2%
